We’re glad you are considering becoming a Member of the Basildon Credit Union Limited. Our Members are valued customers.

To join Basildon Credit Union Limited you need to live and/or work within the County of Essex.

To join us you will need to show proof of your identity, such as a passport or driving licence, and proof of your current address, i.e. a utility or Council Tax bill (no more than 3 months old).

To activate your account we require an initial deposit of £10, which covers £5 one-off joining fee and £5 to keep your account active – this £5 will remain in your account until it is closed.

A partner or relative from your household may also operate an account, however this will need to be in their own name and they will need to make their own deposits, as we are unable to operate joint accounts. We also operate Junior Saver accounts.

Basildon Credit Union Limited do not charge an annual administration fee, however we would require a minimum deposit of £5 per month over 12 months. For Basildon Borough Council employees this is taken from payroll. For everyone else this can be arranged through your bank. Should you not make these minimum deposits then a £10 fee may be applied and we may close your account.

All membership and loan applications are subject to approval by the Basildon Credit Union Limited Board of Directors.
